I'm a new user and interested so far in Blackjack, but not much else. Where should I go from here? Should I stick with what I know or are there other games that I can feel safe with, ( I fell ok about BJ because of the strategy, but do other games have strategies that work?)

The next best are certain types of Video Poker. The payout is sometimes comparable to blackjack but you have to carefully look at the paytable. With Jacks or Better video poker (there are many different types) a '9/6' paytable is also known as 'full pay' and refers to the fullhouse/flush payoffs (9 times the bet for a fullhouse and 6 times the bet for a flush) but there are paytables that pay 8/5 and substantially lower the return. Look at www.wizardofodds.com for more details on this game and others.

Unfortunately, certain hands such as the Royal Flush are rare and I've yet to achieve even one. It takes on average 40,000 hands or so with JoB video poker to get one (you can also go hundreds of thousands without one if you are unlucky) and the variance for this game is high due to these rare paying hands which contribute a lot to the return. This means your money can go up or down more wildly than in games with less variance such as blackjack but this can be counteracted by betting smaller.

Even the straight flush takes about 9000 hands on average and I've only had a few of those.
