Online poker has witnessed tremendous growth over the last few years, thanks to the huge growth in popularity of the internet. Originally spreading from the Mississippi and Ohio rivers to the east coast via the railroads, poker has become exceedingly popular in the U.S. Today the game of poker is one of the most well-known and popular card games in North America and many other parts of the world. I have played online poker for many years, but recently stumbled across http://www.play-online-poker-games-tournaments.com/ and found it to be an exciting website. What struck me right at the beginning is the sheer number of poker games they are offering --- which are many times more compared to any play poker online site. I tried out all the popular versions of the game available in their site, including Texas Holdem (Texas Poker), Omaha Hi, Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud etc. I also downloaded their poker software through which I got the opportunity to play not only free poker, but also opportunities to play free games, enter tournaments, open an account for free and so much more.
Winning poker is the result of effective strategizing and I even got the latest tips for playing poker online from their host and virtuoso player, Mike Sexton. The site offers online poker room that is fraud-free, safe, secure and approved. Being a licensed & regulated by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, the Random Number Generator (RNG) used by them for online poker games is tested and certified by BMM International, a globally recognized tester of gaming and wagering devices. That's not all! They are holding Party Poker Million III Tournament where the estimated prize pool is $3,500,000!! Play poker online and enjoy Texas Holdem (Texas Poker), 7 Card stud and any of the popular variants of poker. Download their free poker software now and you could win your hand of poker. Get the enjoyment of Las Vegas casinos without leaving your home!
Happy Poker Gaming!

| Party Poker (and Empire poker) is an IGlobalMedia site and is in the DUMPED section of the forum, mainly for unresolved issues with it's online casinos from a few years back (cheating software). It may be the most popular site for poker but it doesn't change the past. |

Is it possible for poker software to cheat at all? After all the owner would have no advantage in doing so as the pot never goes to them - only the rake which they would get from fair software or not...
I suppose the only way for them to cheat would be:
A) Have their own players who win the pot more than they should
B) Deal good hands (like two aces, two kings) etc. to a lot of people. These people would stay in and raise, thus increasing their rake.
Is that right? Also, does any software do this (or is believed to do this)?

There is a difference between the software being able to cheat and players' perception of this. Without fake or shill players, I don't see how they can cheat but I think players come up with of all sorts of conspiracy theories. I will quote part of a private message about this I got the other day from a recent member to the forum (won't mention who):

I was thinking about playing some online poker but am worried that it's probably programed to make everyone a loser. I'm not sure I trust it (online gaming). |

I think generally online casinos are more likely to cheat than with poker because obviously any losses hits their bottom line with a casino.. With poker they get the rake regardless of the winner.

Online casinos have cheated (see the blacklist here) but I've not heard of any poker rooms that have, though it is still very possible by having fake players.
The bigger companies have more to lose by cheating than by operating honestly. With casinos, you can statistically detect cheating but it is probably harder with poker. |
