This is a bit premature as it's not quite ready yet but I am explaining here what is going to happen within the next week.
There are numerous new databases. There is basically one for each of the new forum categories, eg. games, portals, software etc. I plan to spend a lot of time researching and updating these but the forum members will be able to do it too.
Every entity (i.e. thing) is sorted in different databases. You will be able to add more entities. So if you spot another casino you can add it (you can do this already) but also you will be able to add anything else too. You can also soon review anything (not just casinos).
Each database has certain fields relevant to the type of entities in that database. For example, a slot machine has a cetain number if reels and so the games database will have a field for that. The amazing thing is that the forum members can add fields to the database themselves. I am not allowing more fields for the Casino database as I will be doing that myself (some of the fields need to be changed, anyway), but the others need more fields which can be added.
The best part of the database is that you are able to add History events. It will be like a timeline for each entity's life. So, even for a particular portal, game, company etc. you can document how it changes and see how it was at any point in the past. These events can be written in any order. They are all stored and simultaneously posted on the board (the board just has a copy of the events already stored in the database). There is no need to worry about making mistakes as everything is easily edited and updated and also any changes are easily reversible by me.
What you will receive credits for is writing new events. The first person to document an event for any particular entity (eg. you can write about the time when something opens or the time it closes), that person will not only receive credits for writing it but everytime someone else writes an event for the same entity, they will get extra ones too for starting it off. An event will normally include changes to bits of the database entry for the thing being written about so at the same time you are also updating the database for that entity (this is a separate database to the history).
Each person will have a limit of 10 automatic changes a day to protect the site. even though any changes are reversible. After that, your changes are still stored but in a pending state. Parts are still being programmed but at least now the history is working and people can add it themselves (there is a link for updating database entries and adding/modifying history on the topics now), although the Credits for people writing them is not implemented at the moment. Unfortunately, I'm programming this all myself so it is taking a while. I've done most of it now so I can start actually adding the info. |
