I don't know who it is but for some time there have been viruses sent to published FairCasinos email addresses that try and trick you into opening an attachment that contains a virus. The latest one seem to state it's from me at info @ faircasinos.com but the ' from' email addresses are always false (it is easy to spoof these things). I was told by Tricon11 about this today:
The subject line says: "*DETECTED* Online User Violation"
The email says: | Quote: |
Dear Faircasinos Member,
We have temporarily suspended your email account ****** @ faircasinos.com.
This might be due to either of the following reasons:
1. A recent change in your personal information (i.e. change of address).
2. Submiting invalid information during the initial sign up process.
3. An innability to accurately verify your selected option of subscription due to an internal error within our processors.
See the details to reactivate your Faircasinos account.

This is just false and may even be from a dodgy casino. Please send me a PM if you ever notice anything like this or any emails from an unknown source or that have a suspicious attachment.
The above quoted email also contained an attachment with a virus. |

Yuck! What do they get out of doing that kind of thing anyway?? Same question I ask about all those spyware lowlifes - I suppose I'll never get it.
Anyway, this reminded me that I had a question to ask about the email here. Avoided asking 'cause it's probably a dumb question! But I wanted to ask how or where you log in to your faircasinos.com email account!
Hmm, and that makes me think ... I wonder if it's really going to matter whether or not anyone posts their email address in the forum actually. Since they all have the same domain name, it wouldn't take a whole lot to guess the first part of the email address too, if you know what I mean (I'll avoid spelling it out just in case the "evildoers" --to borrow a term from "Dubya"-- are reading this.)

Hi,
I think the email was due to a virus spreading through emails.

I'm not sure if it is anything to do with publishing the emails, but I've noticed that the ones that are not published anywhere (such as ones I've created just for certain casinos) don't have any viruses sent to them.
As long as you don't open the attachments, it's ok. |

I found it.
You told us where to log in when you sent the confirmation email when we signed up for an email address. I'd forgotten. But now I know, so you can disregard the question - thanks again. |

wow isnt that just aweful, I hate when people do crappy things such as this, I have no clue why anyone would want to harm someone in a negative way...Im quite new to the comp only 2 in a half years so Ive learned alot about people doing things like this, I wish there was some way we could catch these butt heads....owell I look at it like this Karma is a MF and what comes around goes around and when it comes back to the person trying to purposely harm our things then its gonna bite them in the booty 10.000 times worse....so good ridens to the person doing bad things to good people....any how thanks for the heads up about whats going on....
