The MSNBC Report - Is This Software On Your Hard Drive? goes in depth into spyware/adware and the public relations push by these firms to legitimise themselves and their behaviour towards the end user.

Spyware Info.com have issued a post asking - Is Spyware All That Bad? and goes into detail why it is. A post I agree with.

There are some big names in the gambling industry using spyware, as reported on by Spyware Detective Ben Edelman
Gamblog Comment - Any gambling firm that uses spyware to advertise are rogues in my opinion. Waiting for regulation on adware/spyware/scumware practises to come from America is not good enough for me.

The gambling industry knows the difference between right and wrong, right? Well, they should. I do not want adware. If I did, i'd still be annoyed to have these toolbars and promotion programmes downloaded onto my computer without my explicit consent. I like lots of things, don't throw it through my window though.

Also, I would like to be able to remove the adware programmes from my pc if I want, not have them return via the registry after removal, without my knowledge, by nefarious programming techniques.
