This was a big story in the UK a couple of days ago and also reported on gambling911.com. I have the tapes of what Ron actually said. He was sacked from at least two jobs because of the racist outburst live on televison after the big Champions League soccer match between Chelsea and Monaco. He was a commentator for the game and a former player and manager.
He thought his microphone was off and he was off air but although it wasn't broadcast in the UK due to the UK programme cutting to the main studio, his comments were heard in many other countries watching the main live feed of the match.
He had pulled off his microphone but it was still switched on as he was watching video clips of the match. He seemed very annoyed about the game and with the manner that Chelsea lost. He was firstly moaning about the manager changing the team in the second half and bringing on Veron and then had a real go at Desailly.
He wants to apologise to him now after calling him a 'fu**ing lazy thick n***er' and other comments you can hear on the tapes. He is well known for his good relationship with black players so it seems totally out of character.
Quote:
The former Manchester United and Aston Villa manager said he was prepared to offer Desailly a personal apology.
"I would be perfectly happy to do that," he said. "You have got to have respect for somebody who has done what he has done in football."
First comment showing his annoyance that Veron came on in the second half.

Ok i have listen to his comment and i listen to his sorry I feel that he said what he is use to saying when he is alone and i also feel that the person that was there when he made his rude comment the one laughing in the back round should also say sorry. I have a big promble with it being a big deal saying that he works with many black that should not even be part of it because we all are people and should work along with each other no matter what color a person is. Also comment are made like that everyday not just about black about all colors of people and until this world looks at each other has same we will always hear things like this even from people we would not think of saying them. Sad to say that they are people still in this world that still look at this as a color or look at a person color. _________________ LovelyEssences
Recently there was a documentary about this on the BBC called "Big Ron : Am I a Racist?". It had Ron travelling around the country and the US getting opinions from different people.
A few months before the show was aired, I received an email from the researcher at the production company making the documentary, Anne Summerhayes. She was trying to track down the tapes and a video if possible. This was the only site that seemed to have the recordings. She wanted to know how I got the tapes but I didn't know the original source.
It was thanks to this site that they knew what Ron said because ITV (the channel where Ron made the comments) wouldn't release anything to the BBC. This site wasn't credited at all for providing them with the opportunity to listen to the tapes but at least she thanked me for them! It was obvious during the filming that Ron didn't know the tapes were available because he denied some of the things he said.
There was another similar incident too from years back when he was commentating on another match that was revealed in the documentary, but Ron got away with it that time.
